This Boy's Room

When I didn't get to decorate our son a nursery as a newborn, I was a bit disheartened.  But we went all out with precious monkey-themed crib bedding, a monkey rug, and plans to decorate a safari room for him when we moved....but then that got delayed and delayed, and now our little Booger-nut is too big for crib bedding (he would climb on the bumper to try to climb out of the crib, he never would sleep with the included quilt that we used for floor play, and the crib skirt is unnecessary now that his mattress is in the lowest setting and is just above the under-crib-drawer).  And I don't like kitsch of any kind, so themed lamps and what-not are no-gos in my house.

So for now, his room is baby-appropriate but will grow with him for the next few years.

His room won't be 100% done for a couple of months when we install trim-molding around the blue accent sections on his walls and repaint the trim...oh, and the tiny detail of ripping out the carpet to install hardwood floors.  But we're waiting on tools for the molding, waiting to paint the whole house's trim after all walls are painted, and waiting on more funding for the floor switch-a-roo. 

So for now, his room is done* (with an asterisk)

And Little Guy's room as of last night, when he slept in it for the first time and LOVED it!!

The blue accent nearest the door (Left of the dresser) will get cork squares attached and painted to the current blue so that we can have a bulletin board for pictures and his art! (He loves crayons...but only sometimes actually using them for coloring!)
