First Fire

Earlier this week, the (Who Ya Gonna Call?) Ashbusters cleaned our chimney and sold us a masonry panel to replace our cracked ones (we opted to DIY the actual replacement with their instruction rather than pay an additional $75 to have them install it for us). 

The cleaners thought that the previous owners (in their apparent typical lack of any self control or house maintenance care) probably just burned a rip-roaring fire (his words!) without tempering the pre-fab panels installed by the builder, thus cracking them.

So tonight, we lit our first fire, with instructions to keep the first few small to temper the new panel.
